Marvin Edeas (French Institute of Health and Medical Research, Paris) on ResearchGate - Expertise: Internal Medicine (General Medicine), Oncology, Infectious Diseases

Back in 1998, Marvin Edeas (Page : Marvin edeas) gained his doctorate on HIV infections in symptomless patients from Antoine Béclère Hospital. Marvin Edeas taught between the years 2004 and 2013 at the Paris Bobigny and Poitiers Universities. He concentrated on gastrointestinal disease in Pitié Salpêtrière’s Internal Medicine Department.

Oysters and Peptides Derived from Hydrolysates Modulate Oxidative Stress

The developments Marvin Edeas has made have proved to carry a real-world application. He has filed a couple of patents, in Europe and in the United States. Marvin Edeas succeeded in defining two Nrf-2 modulators isolated from proteins and peptides, which can activate the antioxidant defence system.

Marvin Edeas joined the team in charge of Inflammation, Oxidative Stress and Cell Proliferation. He works at INSERM, Paris Descartes University and CNRS in the Department responsible for Development, Reproduction, Cancer. Marvin Edeas chaired the Scientific Committee of the Targeting Microbiota and Mitochondria Congress (2016), which brought together over 400 participants.

Marvin Edeas takes a close look at topics like microbiota, mitochondria and chronic diseases in many publications. There were two works of reference on mitochondrial medicine written and published by him in 2015. He dealt with the outcomes of oxidative stress in HIV replication in both asymptomatic and symptomatic patients suffering HIV in his thesis which was defended in 1996. Marvin Edeas has written several books and publications.

Chair of the International Society (ISANH) and the French Society of Antioxidants (SFA) and Founder of the World Mitochondria Society (WMS)

ISANH, Marvin Edeas and the SFA work to transfer their research to real-world applications whether nutritional, cosmetic or pharmaceutical. Through the SFA, he encourages collaboration and trade between researchers, biologists, doctors, industrialists and public health actors, etc. The SFA is committed to promoting the usage of antioxidants in nutrition and health, such as their use in preventive and therapeutic medicine. The French Society of Antioxidants is a society which Marvin Edeas chairs.
